June 2015 PEACE Annual Leadership Retreat
This year, the annual retreat in the Leadership of P.E.A.C.E was held in Truro, Massachusetts. Our main discussion this year evolved around the question, “Who are we now AND what are we doing?” We spent time on listening to the different perspectives and needs we see in the communities surrounding us. Besides our main discussion on how we will continue our advocacy, we came to the consensus to emphasize a focus on social media such as Twitter and Facebook, to increase our membership. We attended to details relating to our finances, continuing our Mini Grant Projects, our partnership with DEY, and information regarding our upcoming NAEYC conference in Orlando.

CEASE members Craig Simpson, Amber Wallick, Sunny Wallick and Ana Page at the Chris Lamm Honor an Early Educator Reception at the Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena, CA. This year, a collaboration of groups including CEASE, Educators for Peaceful Classrooms and Communities (EPCC), Children’s Music Network and Peace Camp created The Center for Social Change to honor our beloved Chris Lamm. The Center provided opportunities for activities and lively discussions focusing on “Passion to Action.” Among the many topics addressed were anti-bias education, ecology, and building community.
