Congress Nears Federal Funding Decision: Now contact your Senators & Representatives!
A Congressional decision must be made in January about the funding of the Federal Government, including all that it does for child care, young children and their families, and peace.
If you receive this before February 1, please call (202) 224-3121 to express to your Senators and your Representative your strong support for substantial funding increases for all of these issues for the current Federal Fiscal Year.
If you are reading this in February, and if Congress hasn’t passed the funding Bills yet because of the recent tragedies in Minneapolis, please make the same call now. At these stages in the process, your call is much more likely to have an effect than your email or petition.
If your State and local governments are also in the process of making funding decisions, your voices and information about child care where you live would also be very helpful. If we don’t act now, our child care quality, provider incomes, and parent’s employment, all will suffer. Thank you for what you can do.
