Please Help Congress Protect Our Children, Their Families, and Us

The U.S. Congress has continued in its messy way to postpone the decisions it needs to take about the priorities of Federal Funding for all of the Government, not just us. The Senate and the House have very different ideas about those priorities, as do our own Senators and Representatives. We now need to remind them (yet again!) that as time passes the young children of America are being denied the kind of good quality care for all young children that Congress previously was beginning to honor. The kids’ parents’ job productivity is suffering because so many of them have to fill in for scarce or unavailable child care, and far more child care businesses are folding.

Please get on the phone or website for your Senators and Representatives opens in a new tab and speak to the office of each Senator and Representative who’s supposed to be working for you. Give them your own story to illustrate this general crisis for child care in America now.

Tell the Climate Negotiators to Do Their Best for Young Children

P.E.A.C.E. has joined our friends at the Early Childhood Development Action Network (EDCAN) in asking the world’s governments, gathering in Qatar from November 30 through December 12. Their decisions should include measures and funding specific to children, addressing the distinct and heightened climate risks faced by children, strengthening the resilience of child-critical social services, and empowering children as agents of change. Join in this request opens in a new tab as an individual or an organization.
