Congress Is Failing Us!
This month’s message is no different than its predecessors; however, the outlook is not very promising as the child care situation grows more dire. Please get in touch with your Senators and Representatives to share your stories of how difficult it is to give children and families the care that they need and deserve. The Kids Online Safety Act
A bipartisan push in Congress is helping us to restore play and social contact between young (and older) children, through the Kid’s Online Safety Act (KOSA) opens in a new tab. A recent hearing revealed that media addiction leads to online harms to children, including cyberbullying, eating disorders, sexual exploitation, suicide, and social media addiction. KOSA would require online providers to stop much of their abusive practices, giving parents and caregivers more tools to protect their children. Social media companies would be required to have the strongest privacy and safety settings for young children by default. Please help to get KOSA through Congress and into law.
