Join the Letter Campaign for Early Childhood Funding

Please Take Action

NAEYC is urging its members, and we’re urging you, to write something soon along the following lines to your Senators and Representative opens in a new tab:

As your constituent, I am asking you to do everything you can to pass necessary investments to support quality child care and early learning.

Educators and parents are doing everything we can to hold up the child care infrastructure. But the crisis is growing all around us. Early childhood educators are currently paid an average of only $12/hour for their essential work, barely enough to provide for the needs of their own families. Meanwhile, nearly half a million families are looking for child care across the country and cannot find it.

The scale of the child care problem isn’t one that parents and providers can solve on their own; federal investment is necessary, and it is necessary now. It is critical that we sufficiently fund child care in order to mitigate the impact of the expiration of relief funding in the near future, help secure ample child care supply and capacity, support quality options for families, invest in educators’ compensation, and create a strong and secure foundation for early learning and care in our state and in this country. Please act today.

Thank you

Please use your own words, tell your own stories, and offer to host a visit if the Senator or Representative wants to hear more about these issues. Amid the competing Parties’ proposed Budgets and the Debt Limit negotiations, we need to make as strong a case as we can to convince both Parties to support high quality care and education for every young child in America.
