We honor you for your life’s work in caring for the future of children in preschool, elementary school, high school, and beyond, and for their teachers and parents. You know that the development of a healthy, thriving, young child depends on the caring and respectful understanding received from adults. This commitment has led you to become a leader in the field of early childhood education in Alabama and elsewhere. As members of NAEYC, and early childhood educators ourselves, we know the values which you supported in offering the publication, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, to teachers in the system for which you were Secretary. We are grateful. Children encountering adults with these values will be likely to grow into peaceful friends, and citizens, comfortable in the diverse world we know today. We celebrate you and thank you for all your contributions.

We honor you for the skills you bring to editing and creating our newsletter. Peace Educators Allied for Children Everywhere, P.E.A.C.E., could not have succeeded as an email publication without you! Our monthly offering to our members reaches them by MailChimp, carefully managed by you. Your expertise, passion and personal touch enhance every issue. Because you are focused on ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, you have ensured that our newsletter is accessible. Those of us working with the Newsletter Committee know how much it has benefited from your skill in making connections through the web. The linkages you control for the many topics covered allow for it to reach out much more broadly than its text can provide. Our monthly meetings are productive especially because you join us on Zoom and facilitate the edits and corrections our deliberations require. And you get the final edition out in as timely a way as our varied lives allow. We thank you, for your patience, and for all you bring to this work!
