The Children’s Book Club met again on December 2nd. We appreciate everyone who stuck through the technical difficulties with Zoom. Being able to share our love for children’s literature is a gift and we are grateful to everyone who joined us. Monica shared her favorite recent book that she will be gifting this year, When the Fog Rolls In by Pam Fong. Through simple language and soft illustrations, an adorable puffin demonstrates resilience through fear and uncertainty. For older children, the 2018 graphic novel The Cardboard Kingdom by Chad Sell touches on many topics such as self-expression, friendship, authenticity, and community.
Romano Lopez presented her new book about animal neglect and rescue, loss and love. Due to connectivity issues we did not get to finish the reading. We hope to have her and her illustrator back to finish presenting their lovely book at a future meeting.
