Tell All the Children Our Story: Memories and Mementos of Being Young and Black in America opens in a new tab
By Tonia Bolden

From the first recorded birth of a Black child in Jamestown, through the Revolution, the Civil War, Reconstruction, and the fight for civil rights, right on up to our own time, Bolden brings to light how Black children have worked and played, suffered and rejoiced. 127 illustrations.

February 21 — International Mother Language Day
This day was founded by UNESCO to celebrate the many native languages — over 7,000 — that are spoken all over the world. We like to acknowledge that many ethnic languages are in jeopardy of losing their origin. Current research shows the cognitive advance children will gain when embracing and supporting the child’s first language or mother tongue. Please help us commemorate the cultural and linguistic diversity these languages bring us.
