June 4 — UN Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression opens in a new tab

According to the UN, June 4th has been commemorated each year as the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression Day. On this day we bring awareness to children who have been victims of violence, war, conflict, and aggression.

June 16 — International Day of the African Child opens in a new tab

June 16th is the International Day of the African Child. It was first established by the Organization of African Unity in 1991. The day aims at raising awareness for the situation of children in Africa, and on the need for continuing improvement in education (World Health Organization). June 16 — Father’s Day

Father’s Day is a day on which we celebrate fathers, relevant father figures, fatherhood, paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in our society. The website We Are Teachers opens in a new tab provides some great resources on books for this special day.

June 18 — Autistic Pride Day opens in a new tab

On June 18th, organizations from around the world celebrate Autistic Pride Day. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness among those who are not on the autism spectrum to see people who are on the spectrum as unique individuals and not as people who are in need of treatment.
