2024 NAEYC Annual Meeting

P.E.A.C.E. Annual Meeting & Interest Forum

P.E.A.C.E. and the N.A.E.Y.C. Peace Educators Interest Forum, held a joint annual meeting at the N.A.E.Y.C. Conference in Anaheim, CA, on Friday, November 8th. The meeting started directly after P.E.A.C.E. & E.P.C.C. presented on the topic of Creating a Peaceful Climate to Counter the Roots of Violence, which was attended by approximately 40 people.

The meeting was led by Joyce Daniels, Marilyn Shelton, and Donna Satterlee. We were joined on Zoom by our members from across the country. We began our meeting with an introduction to our P.E.A.C.E. Projects, which are selected and funded annually through our organization. One of our previous recipients, Aubrey Budelli, spoke during our meeting and shared her ideas on the project she implemented in her program.

Our Annual Peace Awards were presented next. We had three recipients this year for their active efforts to improve the care & education of children and social justice for all: Carol Welp, Pat Landry, and Monica Moran. Please read about their efforts below.

We reviewed P.E.A.C.E.’s annual financial report, and approved it with thanks to Treasurer Donna Satterlee. We encouraged participation in our next annual retreat, which will be in Auburn, California, in June of 2025. We also approved the P.E.A.C.E. Council and its Executive Committee for this coming year. We hope to see you again next year!
