A Spontaneous Visit from Ella Jenkins

By Karin Pavelek, Child Development & Educational Studies (CDES) Lab School, Fullerton College

It must have been sometime in 2006, when Ella Jenkins surprisingly visited our CDES Lab School on campus. We were all so excited: the children, families, faculty, and students. Ella ended up engaging and interacting with the children and provided us with a private concert in the open outdoors. P.E.A.C.E. member Chris Lamm and Tom Chiaromonte, both faculty members at that time, shared some intimate moments and so did the teachers and children.

We enjoyed listening to “Did You Feed My Cow?”, “Play Your Instrument”, “You’ll Sing a Song”, and “Dulce Dulce”, to name just a view. I am glad I get to share some of our wonderful moments together in this newsletter. Ella will be dearly missed.
