The Gemini Chatbot
Last month, Google announced that it plans to roll out a version of its Gemini chatbot for users under 13 years old. AI chatbots and other generative AI products pose heightened risks to young children. Google’s announcement also flies in the face of privacy and online safety laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This is the first time a major Big Tech platform will release an AI companion for children under 13.
