Congress failed to rescue the American families needing childcare, as well as the child care profession, in the Inflation Reduction Act and other responses to COVID and the war in Ukraine. We, and the families we serve, are suffering. Please do your part to change this result next year, by voting on November 8 for those who will help give early childhood education the support it needs and deserves. Thank you!

Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Indian Boarding Schools Policies Act S.2907, H.R. 5444

Black-and-white archival photo of Native American children dressed in white dresses or white shirts and black pants, march in 3 long rows. A boarding school is seen in the background. Superimposed text reads: The time for healing is now. Support the Truth & Healing Commission on U.S. Indian Boarding Schools.

A Federal Commission is needed to locate and analyze the records from the 367+ known Indian boarding schools that operated in the U.S. These records are scattered across federal, state, hospital and church archives, private collections, and other unknown repositories, and may take years to fully document. In addition to the search for records, a Commission would also bring together boarding school survivors with a broad cross-section of tribal representatives and experts in education, health, and children and families to fully express and understand the impacts of this federal policy of Indian child removal.
