Native American Heritage Month
The month of November is dedicated to National American Indian Heritage. Take this opportunity to educate yourself and others about the rich and diverse cultures and traditions and to acknowledge the important and ongoing contributions of Native people. The Library of Congress offers free teacher resources. The National Congress of American Indians provides ways to raise awareness about Native tribes in the U.S.

November 3 — Election Day, First Day of Children’s Book Week

Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, young people across the country participate by attending events at schools, libraries, bookstores, celebrating at home, and engaging with book creators both online and in person. The 2025 Children’s Book Week will take place during November 3 – 9!
