Olesya Saban
A bridge connecting vital resources to Ukrainian children.

We salute you for the many ways you have demonstrated your commitment to the children and students of war-torn Ukraine. You translated the social story, “After the War” into Ukrainian to give children an understanding of the conflict and provide comfort and hope. Your advocacy has built connections for partnerships between local, and US, nonprofits to get medication for children suffering with complex conditions. In the midst of war, you have provided essentials as well as toys for the holidays for orphans and made tuition scholarships available for college students so they can continue their studies. We are grateful for your determination to bring hope amidst the suffering in your country. Thank you and wish you PEACE.

A relentless advocate for Children and ECE.

We celebrate you for your leadership in the continuing effort to create quality early childhood education for all, and in building California AEYC into the strong organization it is today. You joined Docia Zavitowsky in her insistence that play must be central to programs for young children, introducing ‘Play Matters’ as a chapter within CA AEYC. We join you in amplifying your message that the wellspring of a strong, capable, healthy community is found in our commitment to the very youngest among us. You played an early role in the struggle for adequate funding for childcare. Thank you for hiring the first paid staff at CA AEYC. Your advocacy over the years has been a role model for generations of teachers. We are grateful for all you have contributed to our field and the children we serve.
