War Resisters International and P.E.A.C.E.

War Resisters International (WRI) is one of the oldest and largest pacifist and anti-militarist networks working to end all war. There are 90 affiliated organizations in 45 countries around the world. WRI works to:

  • Link people together through publications, events and actions
  • Initiate nonviolent campaigns that actively involve local groups and individuals
  • Support those who oppose war and who challenge its causes
  • Promote and educate people about pacifism and nonviolence

P.E.A.C.E. has been an Affiliate of the U.S. WRI network opens in a new tab since 2017 opens in a new tab, joining Fellowship of Reconciliation, War Resisters League, and the Resource Center for Nonviolence in Santa Cruz. P.E.A.C.E. has been part of the program for Opposing Militarization of Youth.

P.E.A.C.E. is one of the few peace education groups working with young children. Many sections and affiliates have branches within their organizations that reach out to children and families. We at P.E.A.C.E. encourage work with the National Network Opposing the Militarization of Youth and Project Youth and Non-Military Opportunities (Project YANO) in San Diego. We share articles in our newsletter of activities around the world, “war toy” campaigns and other events that impact children and war. We at P.E.A.C.E. have joined coalitions opposing child soldiers around the world.

We need to join international movements against war and educate children in nonviolence. Only by working together can we end all war.
